LUSO.us: What are Instagram Reels: How to Create and Use Reels Instagram. Instagram Reels is a new Instagram feature for users to create 15-second video clips set to music and share to their Stories, Explore Feed, and a new Reel tab on the user’s profile.

Similar to TikTok, Reels is the newest video feature on Instagram and is now available in the United States and 50 other countries including Indonesia now.

Instagram Reels has its own version of a For You page: the new Reels Explore Feed. You can find the Reels Explore Feed on Instagram’s Explore Page. Instead of only seeing Reels from the accounts you follow while scrolling, you’ll see Reels from popular and trending accounts on Instagram.

Even though the Reels algorithm isn’t locked yet, it feels similar to the TikTok For You page. It’s likely to be influenced by who you’re already following, what content you’re interacting with, and where you are.

As you scroll, you may notice that some reels have a “Features” label above the description.

According to Instagram, “If your Reels are featured in Explore, you will receive a notification. Featured reels are a selection of public reels selected by Instagram to help you discover original content that we hope to entertain and inspire you.”

Select Reels at the bottom of the Instagram camera. You’ll see a variety of creative editing tools on the left side of your screen to help create your roll, including:

Audio: Search songs from Instagram’s music library. You can also use your own original audio by simply recording a reel with it. When you share reels with original audio, your audio will be associated with you, and if you have a public account, people can create reels with your audio by selecting “Use Audio” from your reel.

AR Effects: Choose from one of the many effects in the effects gallery, created by Instagram and content creators around the world, to shoot multiple clips with different effects.

Timer and Countdown: Set a timer to record your clips hands-free. Once you press record, you will see a 3-2-1 countdown, before recording starts for the amount of time you selected.

Align: Align objects from your previous clip before recording your next clip to help create smooth transitions for moments like changing outfits or adding a new friend to your reels.

Speed: Choose to speed up or slow down the portion of the video or audio you choose. This can help you keep up with the beat or create slow-motion videos.

Instagram Reel is a new way to build your community and grow your reach on Instagram. Reel makes it easy to build genuine relationships with your customer base and strengthens the community you’re trying to build.
